<p>An insert formed from a single piece of steel for reinforcing the bottom of a shoe of polyurethane, has a rising or vertical section passing through or attached to the heel which is circular in cross-section. The insert then curves over the downwards widening out into a flat section with stabilises the shoe bottom. A permanent fastening of the insert into the bottom of the shoe, as well as the prevention of unevenness of the inner sole, and the longer life of the shoe generally, are guaranteed by the embedding of the insert first of all in a sheath of synthetic material. This is held in place by stiffening ribs and openings in the metal. The heel section of the insert may have an opening to receive a replaceable wearing stud.</p> |
