The l.v. but h.p. fuse consists of a fuse cartridge and a base with two contacts for the cartridge. The contact pairs consist of a knife contact and a bracket-like contact. Insulation on the ends of the arms of the bracket contact act against the arc produced when the cartridge is inserted. The insulation (9) increases the length of the arms (8) of the bracket contact and is fixed to these ends. The insulation consists of two pieces, one on each arm end. The arm ends are recessed (11) away from one another near the insulating pieces so that the distance between the ends is increased.
