The recoilless launcher for anti-tank purposes has a projectile part (2) containing an explosive charge weighing about 2.5 kg. This is discharged from the launcher housing (1) by a propellent charge (3) at the rear. As the projectile is fired, it is stabilised by a set of cords (5) attached to the outside. The cords form an equally spaced set of loops attached at one end (12) to the rear of the housing for the main charge and at the other end to anchorages (4) around the open mouth of the launcher. As soon as the projectile leaves the mouth of the launcher, the cords are tensioned thus aligning the projectile before they break.
