<p>The mechanism fits a covering to a mattress, using a hose of sheet material enclosing the uncovered mattress. A tensioning device coupled to the hose pulls it tight round the mattress. The hose can be formed from a rectangular sheet, joined along two opposite edges by a detachable strip, or alternatively two such sheets so joined, the sheet being wound onto a strip forming the tensioning device. A reinforcing bead can be formed on the sheet, over which this strip fits.</p> |
