Multi-spindle drill head for simultaneous boring - operates using drive tool shaft separate from drive gear

The multi-spindle drill head is used for simultaneous boring of several holes. It has a conical or cylindrical drive tool shaft and a drive gear, which can be automatically exchanged on change machine tools, especially numerically controlled operating centres with tool magazines, as on a normal tool used on such a machine. A drive tool shaft separate from the drive gear is used and this is connected with the drive gear so that it can move axially against spring loading. There is a spring in the bore of the drive tool shaft which accepts the gear shaft.
