PURPOSE:A quick drying ink for ink jet recording, composed of a water-soluble dye, a polyhydric alcohol, a specific surfactant, a cellulose derivative, and water, which is free of the clogging of ink in jet nozzles, as well as excellent in quick dryability. CONSTITUTION:In water, 0.1-9wt% of a water-soluble dye (A), 7-45wt% of a polyhydric alcohol (B), e.g., mono-, di-, tri, or tetraethylene glycol, glycerine, etc., 0.5-25wt% of a surfactant (C) having a surface tension of 20-50dyne.cm<-1> (for micell concentration in water), e.g., a fatty acid salt, a higher alcohol sulfate salt, etc., and 0.5-6wt% of a cellulose derivative (D), e.g., hydroxypropylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose, etc., are dissolved to obtain the quick drying ink composition. |
