Ureidocetohydroxamic acids of general formula wherein R is isobutyl, hydrogen, methyl, benzyl, 4-aminobutyl or hexyl and R1 is hydrogen or benzyl, and methods for their preparation are described. These compounds are patent inhibitors of the enzyme responsible for the conversion of Angiotensin I to the powerful pressor agent Angiotensin II associated with hypertension.
