<p>An igloo 10 is constructed of a number of gores 14, eight for example, made of an expanded plastics material e.g. polystyrene or polyurethane reinforced with skeletal stiffening members 17 e.g. of a steel mesh and assembled edgewise by mortise and tenon joints 15, 16 to be sealed by an appropriate cement.
