1375131 Granular detergents containing sodium tripolyphosphate KNAPSACK AG 26 Jan 1973 [8 Feb 1972] 4104/73 Heading C5D A granular dishwashing and rinsing composition comprises partially hydrated sodium tripolyphosphate in the form of solid, spheroidal particles having a mean size substantially between 0À2 and 2 mm., an apparent density substantially between 900 and 1100 g./litre, and a hydration water content substantially between 16% wt. (maximum content) and 2% wt. (minimum content), the hydration water-content being a function (as defined) of the Phase-I content, the latter being substantially between 4 and 14% wt. of the anhydrous sodium tripolyphosphate. Thus, with a 4% Phase-I content, the appropriate hydration water content is 16%; for 5% Phase-I, it is 14 to 16%; for 6% Phase-I, it is 7 to 16%; the relationship being disclosed in Table I. A dish-washing composition consists of 70 parts of partially hydrated sodium tripolyphosphate, 29 parts of sodium silicate and 1 part of chlorine bleach, e.g. potassium dichloroisocyanurate. Two parts of a surfactant, e.g. ethoxylated (11 moles) stearyl alcohol may be incorporated in the aforesaid mix. |
