<p>PURPOSE:To separate animal cells from a gel in dispersed state and to enable the use of the animal cell as a seed cell, by treating an immobilized material containing an animal cell colony in a gel with a gel decomposition enzyme and then decomposing and removing the enzyme. CONSTITUTION:Animal cells are included and immobilized in a hydrated gel and cultured in a liquid medium. The cells are separated in dispersed state from the obtained immobilized material containing the cell colony by the following process. The immobilized material containing the cell colony is treated with a hydrolase of the gel material to dissolve the gel matrix and the product is treated with a protein hydrolase to decompose and remove the gel material hydrolase. The cells forming a colony can be separated in dispersed state by this process.</p> |
