PURPOSE:To effect an inexpensive and efficient heat-fusion of powder, blocks or their mixture of burnt ash or sewage sludge by a method wherein material is heated by microwave energy in a fusion furnace forming a microwave resonator, heated material is made to an initiator for current conduction heating, then microwave heating is stopped or reduced adequately. CONSTITUTION:A fusion equipment includes the microwave resonating type fusion furnace 3 and the current conduction heating fusion furnace 9. The outlet 8 of the microwave furnace is blocked by glassified solid, and powder, blocks or their mixture 4 of burnt ash, sewage sludge or plating sludge is charged in the microwave furnace 3, then microwave power is input through the wave inlet 1. The material 4 is heated and melted from the bottom, the melted material falls from the outlet 8 into the current heating furnace. The electric resistance of the material is reduced to allow current to pass, and generated Joule's heat raises the temperature. Through heat transmission from the current-heated material, unfused material 4 raises its temperature, thus capable of being heated by current conduction. Thus, the microwave power can be either stopped or weakened. |
