The dry dock according to the invention comprises a main chamber 1 for assembling a central portion 8 of the hull of a vessel with a fore end portion, and at least one side chamber 2 communicating with the main chamber 1 for assembling the aft end 9 of the vessel. The side chamber 2 is separable from the main chamber 1 by a dock gate 3. The main chamber 1 is dividable into two sections by means of a second dock gate 6, that is, an assembling section 4 in which the central portion 8 of the hull of the vessel is assembled with its fore end portion, and an after-mounting and launching section 5, in which the vessel is completed and from which it is launched. <IMAGE> |
