<p>The leaf separator is positioned above the main conveyor of a gaps harvester. It comprises an extractor hood with an endless belt conveyor at its mouth. The belt can be either a flexible metla grille or other open structure which is permeable to air. The belt passes over two rotating drums in a direction transverse to the direction of the harvester conveytor. A stream of air is sucked through the belt, lifting the leaves off the conveyor and depositing them beside it.</p> |
