PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of a large-diameter output conductor portion in a hermetically sealed container by providing the hermetically sealed container enclosing a piezoelectric element, wherein the pressure apllied to the piezoelectric element is not transfered to the hermetically sealed container. CONSTITUTION:An element stack 4, which is constituted by connecting a plurality of disk-shaped piezoelectric elements 5, is compressed by a compressor 6. An end- plate base 14 and a top plate 15 comprise a rigid structure, and a rigid frame 16 comprises a plurality of rods and are arranged so as to avoid the portions where an output conductor 11 and a voltage divider 12 are provided. When a hydraulic pump 38 is actuated, a ram 36 is pushed up, and a compressing force is applied to the element stack 4 by way of a piston 35. Since the pressure applied to the element stack is not transfered to a hermetically sealed container 8, the structure of the hermetically sealed container can be arbitrarily selected, thereby a large-diameter output-conductor take-out portion 23 for high voltages can be readily constituted. |
