The invention relates to a log-arranging elevator 1 for arranging and hauling up logs from a cross conveyor 2 on a certain level to a longitudinal conveyor 4 on a significantly higher level. The elevator comprises a number of parallel, continuous chains 5 with drivers 6, which are all of equal height on the chains. These have interspaces in the lateral direction and the interspaces are filled by a deck 8 having grooves 7 for the chains and on the lower part of the elevator the deck is configured to form an elevation deck 9, which is connected to the actual deck 8 by means of a plane 10 sloping towards the chains. As a result of the elevation deck 9, the drivers acquire only a part of their height jutting up over the elevation deck when they pass this and can only transport one log at a time from a log store on the cross conveyor 2, but after the log arrangement along the elevation deck the drivers acquire their full height in order to prevent a log, during the continued transport along the steep elevator, from passing over the drivers and dropping downwards, with a consequent risk of an accident. <IMAGE> |
