<p>To permit the connection to a battery having a terminal in the shape of a stub cone of a load lead having a flat terminal, it is necessary to provide a ring having a flat projection (1). The ring has a suitably tapered interior hole to embrace the battery terminal (11). A hole (4) passing through two walls of the ring and located towards the side remote from the flat projection is of suitable diameter to permit the insertion of a pin (5) of harder material (e.g. steel). This pin penetrates the material of the battery terminal thus forming a solid fixing for the connector. Alternatively, the pin can pass through only one side of the ring and be just long enough to penetrate the battery terminal. If the projection takes the form of two parallel strips, the ring can be a collar surrounding the terminal and tightened by the action of the same nut and bolt as attach the load lead to the projection.</p> |
