<p>The automatic coupling is used on railway coaches, also connecting a pneumatic conduit by a tubular connector sliding in a sleeve which itself slides in a cage. A circlip prevents rotation of the sleeve relative to the connector, having a lug engaging a longitudinal connector groove. The groove has a lateral inlet at the end nearest the intermediate plane common to both couplings, thus, temporarily securing the sleeve to the connector. The arrangement facilitates re-assembly of the pneumatic fittings while the coaches remain coupled, overcoming problems due to unequal spring resistances.</p> |
