Hybrid electrode for metal/air cells contains a water-repellent layer of plastic (I) on gas-side, an intermediate catalyst-contg. layer for O2-dissolution and, on electrolyte side, a metallic layer for O2 sepn, against an electrode frame of plastic (II). The hybrid electrode is sealed by introducing a paste mixt. of (i) plastic corresp. to (II), dissolved in an organic solvent, and (ii) powdery water-repellent plastic corresp. to (I), between the electrode frame and the water-repellent plastic layer of the hybrid electrode. Sealing prevents electrolyte leakage, even in continuous operation. |
