<p>Each capsule consists of a thin walled bush made of noble metal; and one of both open ends of the bush are closed by a plug which has no screw thread but is soldered in the bush. Each capsule contains a permanent magnet made of a lanthanide-cobalt alloy; and the capsules are connected together along the row by equal lengths of decorative chain. The wall of the bush is pref. 0.1-0.5 mm. thick and the bush is pref. made of Au, Pt, Rh, or their alloys, whereas the magnet pref. has compsn. RCoz, where R is a lanthanide metal or alloy, and z = 4.5-9.0; R is esp. Ce or its alloys or Sm or its alloys, and part of the Co may be replaced by Fe, Cu and/or Mn. As bracelets, necklaces, etc. ornamenting the human body, where beneficial effects on health are attributed to the magnets.</p> |
