<p>The car service jack comprises a column (10) supporting a carrier arm which is vertically adjustable to lift a car by manually rotating a screw spindle. The col. rests on a base plate (12) which is rigidly secured to it by means of a riveted (20) flange (30) connection. To increase the stability of the col. the rivet heads may be pointed in downward direction. The col. and base plate may be of light metal, partic. aluminium, whilst the rivets are of steel, and pref. insulated relative to the aluminium against electrolytic corrosion.</p> |
