<p>To pass thin paper, plastic, metal, fabric or film strip materials through a roller assembly, the guide rollers are provided with a relief surface structure. The system ensures that the strip material does not fold while passing through the roller assembly. Pref. the rollers are provided with a lozenge-pattern on the surface, or are covered by netting tubes. The netting is made of plastic in a net size where the ratio of the netting thread diameter to the stitch width is 1:5 to 1:20 with a thread diameter of about 1.6 mm and a stitch width of about 16mm. The lozenge pattern is milled or etched into the roller surface to give a ratio of cutting depth to pattern width of about 1:5 to 1:20.</p> |
