<p>A device for automatically splicing the ends of a broken yarn on a spinning or winding frame comproses a vortex chamber in which the yarn ends are laid alongside each other and the fibres intermingled by means of intermittent blasts of air into the vortex chamber, which can be varied in strength and duration according to the type of threads to be joined. The process produces a sound, secure splice. The splicer does not require tedious readjustments every time there is a yarn change, and such adjustment as is necessary can be made by a single operation at a central control panel.</p> |
