The memory circuit is individually associated with each telephone subscribers circuit so as to record all unconnected calls. The memory is connected to an optical display system which reproduces the memorised callers number. Recall of the call numbers for display is actuated by control on the subscribers telephone. The call number displayed is only erased from the display either when the control is operated a second time or when the caller is connected.
