The lateral stabilisers for the windsurfer consist of floats or small waterskis which plane on the surface. The stabilisers are positioned towards the rear end of the surfboard, and are connected by a bridge crossing over the top surface of the board. The bridge is held in a bearing giving a certain amount of flexibility. A vertical bolt may be used to fasten the bridge onto the surfboard and there is a considerable degree of play in the bearing piece. The floats or waterskis may be mounted in a skewed position, to give an enhanced stabilising effect.
|
