A hollow roof tile incorporates a solar energy collector and has an upper wall which is transparent over at least a part of its surface. The lower wall is constituted as a heat absorber over at least a part of its surface. The upper and lower parts are arranged so that the heat transfer fluid circulates without pressure from the top downwards in free fall over the absorbent wall. The transparent part of the upper wall pref. consists of a cell filled with air formed by two superposed transparent walls and acting as a radiation trap.
