Disilification process of manganese alloys in a liquid phase. By injecting in the liquid alloys carbon dioxide, the effect of which may be completed by an additional neutral or oxidising gas, the silicon is oxidised into SiOu. The addition of lime stone or dolomite enhances the scorification of the silica. The silicon content may hence be lowered down to at least 0. 1%. Application for producing low carbon and low silicon ferromanganese.
