The solid armature type electromagnetic brake has a water cooling facility and a braking action based on eddy currents, as used for various types of motors, transport vehicles, reduction gear-drives, and hydraulic clutches. The system is designed for increased efficiency in the heat exchange process and reduction in the flow resistance and simplification in the layout of the cooling system in general. Thus, each rotor pole tooth has a depression in the central part under the ring with orifices, and the peripheral part of the tooth is provided with an edge that protrudes into the container tank cavity, the inner edge of the latter being designed in the form of a rebound shield. A labyrinth seal is arranged in the vicinity of the screen between the rotor and stator.
