The dental X-ray equipment has an X-ray tube (1) for insertion into the patient's mouth to impinge X-rays on the object to be taken. An X-ray amplifier (3) forms the X-ray image. An imaging tube (4) converts the visible image into electrical video signals. A recording and regeneration unit (5) stores the video signals and reforms the image. A t.v. monitor (6) reproduces the video signals as an observable picture. A time control (7) synchronises and limits w.r.t. time the operation of the imaging tube (4), the recording unit (5) and the t.v. monitor (6). This arrangement permits an image of at least three teeth to be recorded quite comfortably from a limited radiation dosage.
