Solutions or suspensions of biomass and albumin are dried to produce granules for food or fodder in a fluidised bed dryer of specifid shape which is preceded by a metering pump and followed by a wet dust extractor. Hot air is introduced in the fluidised bed in a primary and a secondary stream. This produces cool and free-running granules, free from dust, without detrimental effects due to heat. The capital costs for equipment and the expenses for power consumption are low.
