The transmission signal input unit converts signals prior to transmission into standardised form acceptable to the input of an electronic control or monitoring circuit. It is used in the control and monitoring of functions of trains, vessels, etc. The input signals contain specific information such as setting of control elements, temperature, pressure, etc. and they are processed in the input unit. Each input of the unit is connected via a logic circuit to the line of a matrix at the input. The lines are connected via Schmitt triggers to the lines of an output matrix. The evaluation networks are connected to lines and columns of the output matrix. The columns of the matrices are connected to decoders which are energised synchronously by a clock pulse generator.
