<p>The invention disclosed relates to a cable-cutting device for cutting a cable under tension. The device is intended for use in conjunction with aircraft, particularly helicopters to provide reasonable protection to the rotor mast assembly, from cable strikes. The novel device comprises a pair of co-acting cable-cutting edges arranged at a suitable angle to produce a wedge-like mechanical advantage to at least partially cut a cable so that the cable will fail under moderate tension.</p> |
