A process for the production of a linear co-polyamide comprises condensing 3-aminomethyl-3:3:5-trimethylcyclohexylamine with a mixture of acids comprising adipic acid and terephthalic and/or isophthalic acid. The polyamides may be prepared from the salts of the components or by interfacial condensation. Examples are given.
