<p>The filter candle, partic, used in the brewery industry, consists of a perforated tube, having unperforated, strip-like areas, covered externally by fine wire mesh held by polygonal helically wound support wires, fixed on both free ends. The upper end of the candle is open and inserted in to a hole of the filter chamber plate, while the lower end is sealed by a cap, which is provided with a side opening to avoid the formation of an air lock and to allow the free circulation of sterilisation fluid.</p> |
