Sequential machining of workpieces - using work carriers moved opposite to work cycle transport by pressurising hose compressed by rollers

The arrangement is for sequential machining of workpieces at a number of machining stations. It comprises a workpiece carrier (7) to move the carriers along a main frame to the stations for machining mechanism to move them in opposite direction, and carrier locating guides and machine tools at each station. The carrier reversing mechanism comprises a roller assembly (117) containing two rollers (125) which can be operated to compress a flexible tube (118) between them. The tube extends parallel to the return track and valves are provided to alternately admit pressure to one and the other end of the tube.
