PURPOSE:To provide the optical transmission line which uses the metal halide compound which is soluble in water as a photoconductor by covering a metal body on the photoconductor composed of the metal halide compound and further hermetically sealing both ends of the photo conductor with chalcogens glass. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductor 1 constituted by cesium iodide as a metal halide compound is covered with a metal body 2 constituted by a copper pipe applied with nickel plating on its inside surface. The end parts of said photoconductor 1 are covered with the chalcogens glass 3 constituted by the glass of the composition of selenium 70mol%, arsenic 20mol%, germanium 10mol% to a hermetic structure, whereby the optical transmission line of the superior transmission characteristics may be created. |
