PURPOSE:To effectively absorb energy within a limited range of displacement, by using a set of members which are opposed to each other with a certain distance and relatively movable one-dimensionally. CONSTITUTION:This energy absorbing device is composed of a member 11 having slit type through holes and another plate member 21 which is held by using the holes. Both longitudinal ends of the first member 11 are double-folded and a fine slit 113 is made at the tip for folding, for example, a safety belt of an automobile. A base plate 111 having hooks in two rows at the rear end is fixed with screws 113' to a plate cover 112. The second member 21 having many wire loops 46 planted on a surface with a stopper 212, is connected with a break pin 5 to the first member 11. |
