PURPOSE:To recover ink without especially locating an ink discharge system, by placing a gutter, an ink reservoir, and a carrier and by discharging ink in the ink reservoir by utilizing the force of inertia producing at the turn of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle assembly 1 equipped with a deflecting electrode 4 is placed on a carrier 25. The carrier 25 provides with a gutter 26 at a upper surface of the end thereof and an ink reservoir 30 at a bottom surface of said end, the gutter and the ink reservoir being connected together through an opening 251. When the carrier comes in proximity of the trun, a speed thereof is reduced. Thus, ink recovered to the ink reservoir 30 through the gutter 26 is discharged into a recovery container 31 from a discharge opening 301 by utilizing the force of inertia produced at the turn. Subsequently, the ink in the container 31 returns to an injection ink tank. |
