The non-sliding flanged spindle actuates valve plugs, and is of round material (1) with one or more peripheral grooves (3). The flange is a separate component rolled into the grooves to form a tight joint. The grooves themselves can be formed by rolling, while the T-section flange comprises a bush with a radial collar on the outside. The flanks (4, 5) of the grooves can be inclined and/or there can be further grooves in the bases of them.
