Appts. comprises a body contg. >=1 spray stage which isable to turn around a vertical axis. The spray stage is formed from >=1 channel curved to form a spiral starting from the spray, there being a gap between the bands of the spiral to allow passage of the gas. The channels are hollow on the inside of the spiral. The sections of the channel are arranged according to their length. They are displaced along the vertical axis so that the spray stage, when assembled, has the form of a tube. Appts. is used in rectification, absorption, dust sepn. and distn. processes. It is particularly useful for high temp. sensitive substances such as fatty acids, polyatomic alcohols ethanolamines, oils, food pharmaceutical products. The construction of the spray stage ensures recycling of the liq. and the turbulence of the liq. film at the same time allowing more complete use of the internal vol. of the appts. The ease of mounting and demounting the equipment is also increased and its reliability improved.
