Spherical reference block for three=dimensional measurement probes - has multiple orthogonal contact surfaces for differently shaped probes

An auxiliary reference block for three-dimensional measurement and marking devices with interchangeable contact pieces mounted in different positions in a three-axis coordinate system enables easy rapid sensing with many differently shaped pieces, primarily spherical probes but also conical, disc, and prism probes. Frictionless changeover from spherical to prism, conical, disc or other probe shapes can be made during measurements. Three mutually perpendicular borings (33, 47) have contact surfaces for coaxially inserted conical probes. Their axes intersect at the centre (29) of the device and coincide with the three coordinate axes. Three mutually perpendicular intersecting peripheral slots (36, 37) with contact surfaces for disc probes are each concentric to a coordinate axis and each occupies a meridian of the spherical block. Three cylindrical surfaces (30-32) are provided for prism or spherical probes.
