The automatic feeding machine is particularly for the programmed feeding of small animals, having a fodder hopper and a conveyor drive controlled by a timer. The hopper, whose drive is controlled by the timer, has a number of chambers, one or more of which are emptied at the appropriate times. The chambers (6) are coupled to an endless haulage rope or chain (1), the drive of which is controlled by the timer, so as to travel in a set direction and round two or more axles (5). At the appropriate time one or more of them are turned or tipped in the travel direction or at right angles to it.
