The electric motor has a housing (22) of electrically insulating resin surrounding the armature. A metal open-end section is rigidly fastened to the housing. A cooling ventilator (36) is cut into the shaft (32) of the armature. A cylindrical ventilator guide element (40) of electrically insulating resin is secured within the open end section (24) and set at a distance, surrounding the cooling ventilator. A cylindrical projection (42) is built up within the housing and is rigidly connected to the ventilator guide element. The cylindrical end section (40) of the ventilator guide element (40) is built up from a ring-shaped end part (44), which is subject to deformation, if the cylindrical projection (42) moves in a snake-like progression to contact the ring-shaped wall section.
