A computer has a directing system for the stream of several signal processing systems. It consists of a calculating unit with associated stores which can be addressed. There is a series of switching and control modules which transmit the sequence of data signals processed or yet to be processed, to the input and output respectively. The addressing modules consists of a generator producing a section of the address. The storage cell in the store is selected by a counter with reset facility and which carries a series of counts periodically in stages. This produces a second section of the address. They are combined in an adder.
