The suspension rail for shower curtains consists of a rod bent into an L or C shape. The ends of the rod fit into holders for fixing onto the wall. Both holders have a pivot mounting each of which are aligned axially. The rod can be pivoted from its position when in use by 180 deg. into a position of non-use where the arms of the rod extend next to the walls of the room. The pivot mountings are positioned at an angle of 45 deg. to a wall fixture plate. The plate has a bolt extending outwards at an angle of 45 deg. on which is pivot mounted a socket. One end of the rod is fixed into the socket.
