Rim for lightweight spoked wheel - is made with two metal strips rolled over each other

A simplified process for assembling wheel rims for lightweight spoked wheels in which two strips of metal are drawn off supply reels (1, 2) and rolled into overlapping wheel rim profiles. The inner strip overlaps the outer one at both sides and has its edges rolled over to secure the profile. The butting ends are welded together after cutting (9). The wheel rim is made in a few simple processes, with automatic control. The metal strips can be coated with trim so that subsequent processing is reduced.
