Electrolytic aluminium furnace air cylinder control - with all valves housed in manifold cover of one air cylinder

The crust of the molten bath in electrolytic furnaces for the prodn. of Al from bauxite is broken by a tool beam which is actuated by two air cylinders. The flap of the bauxite container above the bath is also actuated by two air cylinders. The first two cylinders have at the cylinder end opposite to the piston rod end a manifold plate in which the control valves for both cylinders are housed. This saves the material and labour for long pipelines and results in a better functional reliability of the breaking and metering system.
