Laser beam position finding mechanism - has beam split into two and directed onto rotating mirrors controlled by navigation system

The position finding system which may use a map as the surface on which a position is indicated, uses a laser beam. A beam splitter divides the beam into two parts extending outwards in opposite directions, and onto respective rotating mirrors. These slope at different angles, and the reflected beams intersect at a marking point positioned on the map etc. The navigation appts. is connected to a coding device which has two outputs connected to drives which control rotation of the two mirrors.
