PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material of low price and high availability in writing by utilizing a specified organic compound as a solvent for an electron donative color former which colors by contacting with or reacting to aromatic carboxylic acids. CONSTITUTION:A recording material is obtained by utilizing herein formulated compound as a solvent for an electron donative color former which colors by contacting with or reacting to aromatic carboxylic acid and/or metallic salts thereof. Aboves are particularly effective for the color formers of triallyl methane series leuco compounds such as 3,3-bis(p-dimethyl aminophenyl)-6-dimethyl aminophthalide (crystal violet lactone), 3,3-bis(p-dimethyl aminophenyl) phthalide, etc. This solvent is of high solubility and coloring depth, quick coloring, low toxicity and, as a product, of low price and highly available for writing with a ball-point pen. |
