PURPOSE:To prepare a formed piece which has a high impact-resisting property and is useful as a building material or the like, by extending or rolling a shaped piece of chlorine-contained resin at a temperature higher than its glass transition point, keeping the extended or rolled piece tensioned, and quenching the piece to a temperture lower than said glass transition point. CONSTITUTION:A chlorine-contained resin such as vinyl chloride resin or chlorinated vinyl chloride resin, which contains a chlorine atom in each molecule and has a glass transition temperature of preferably 70-100 deg.C, is formed by extrusion, pressing, calendering or the like. The formed resin is extended or rolled at a temperature by 50 deg.C or more higher than its glass transition temperature. The formed resin is kept tensioned. The resin is cooled a rapidly as possible by water or other coolant so that the crystal regions of the resin do not grow. This results in providing a formed piece such as a flume, corrugated sheet or the like with a high impact- resisting property. |
