PURPOSE:To prevent floating of web by conveying smoothly even in the case of a thin, less stiff web, by corrugating the surface of guide plate provided opposedly to a web, and forming an air flow layer on this surface. CONSTITUTION:When the butt ends of a preceding web X and a succeeding web Y reach a joining device E, a tape stand 62 of joining drums 44, 45 rotates in the position to vertically squeeze said butt ends. As a result, the squeezing force of the table 62 causes a joining tape 67 to contact with the both faces of the butt ends of the both webs X, Y, and the fore end of the web Y is butt-joined to the rear end of the web X, then the webs are transferred to a subsequent processing device. When pressing the tape 67, if the end parts of the webs X, Y are loosened to float up due to the winding inclination of the webs resulting in occurrence of crease or inaccurate butt state, compressed air flow is injected from a nozzle 70 to straighten the end parts of the webs X, Y. Therefore, even webs having a strong widning inclination may be joined together butt to butt accurately. |
